Competitions appear on the Competition tab. You can find this represented by the trophy icon on the navigation bar at the bottom of the main menu.
Competitions use existing photos that you have already taken during challenges, and are available in your Profile. You cannot enter a photo into more than one competition.
Competitions require a number of tickets to enter.
